Real Life Batman Died In A Road Accident

Batman is real. He was a businessman in Maryland, wore the cape, fought crime and cheered up sick children in hospitals and drove a Lamborghini batmobile.  On Monday, Batman died in what can only be termed as a one of the most unfair tragedies of our time.

Leonard B Robinson, a Maryland based businessman, became an internet sensation in 2012, after a video of a routine police stop went viral. The video, below, showed the police stop a batmobile and its rider, Leonard, dressed as Batman. Leonard not only won the internet but our hearts as he told the cops of his efforts to cheer up children in hospitals by dressing up as Batman. Something he did till the very end of his life.

Mr Robinson was already well known locally for his visits to area hospitals. He had made a fortune in the cleaning business, had started dressing as the dark knight for his son. But the dress stayed on despite his boy growing up. He made it a habit to visit and entertain children in hospitals and schools. The autographs he signed for hundreds of sick children on those occasions did not read “Larry Robinson”, but “Batman”.

Lenny, or “Batman of Route 69” as he was called by the locals, was struck by a car and killed late Sunday night after the Lamborghini that doubled as his Batmobile broke down on Interstate 70 in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was returning from an auto show in West Virginia.
We don’t like bad things happening to good people. Especially someone as good as Lenny was.
RIP Batman. You were real and we will tell the world
